I am the father of six adult children, Hope Anne, David Jr., Carolyn, Brian, Sean, and Erin, all of whom are college graduates, one seven-year-old daughter, Kiara, and one four-year-old daughter, Lorraine. I am also a grandfather of six: Robert, William, Samantha, Sara, Lyla, and Katelyn.

My work background is in engineering and business. I studied architecture at Pratt Institute, and then went to work as a surveyor. Afterwards I worked as a field engineer, responsible for construction supervision of public schools, highways, and buildings. I joined CBS, becoming Manager of Planning and Cost Engineering, and supervised other engineers and architects. Following this value added experience of 20 years, I worked another 20 years as owner of a commercial printing business.
 
I have been a Little League Manager, Big Brother, Assistant Scout Leader, School Advisory Council Member, and Sunday School Teacher. I am past president of the North Florida American Association of Cost Engineers, past member of the surveyor’s union, past elected member of the Hillsborough County, Florida democratic executive committee, and past appointed member of a county sign advisory board. I am a current member of the PTOs at Moore Magnet and Glenellen Elementary Schools, a Public Health Emergency Response Volunteer, and a voting member and greeter at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
