My wife, our children, and I each have one of these laptop computers, and we prefer them to our desktop PCs, which we no longer use.

Additional battery pack, interchangeable with the CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive, is included!!! For extended use on DC, there are two removable and rechargeable batteries. When you want to work with a DVD or CD, simply slide the larger battery out, and slide the DVD drive in. It runs well on AC or DC either with both batteries installed or with one battery and the DVD drive installed.

I wiped the hard drive, and reloaded Windows XP Professional OS, including Service Pack 3 and all updates. The OS product code sticker with key is on the laptop.

Anti-virus software, Microsoft Security Essentials, is installed.

Internet Explorer 8 is installed.

Windows XP Pro is activated with Microsoft, and all installed software is legal.

VLC Media Player is installed, for better DVD viewing.

It is available with or Open Office, the equivalent of, and compatible with, Word, Excel, and Power Point. 

Several remain available; bargains at only $189 each. All are in excellent condition.

I prefer Windows XP Pro, but these laptops pass testing for upgrading to Windows 7.
